Created entirely by hand using layers of colored ballpoint pen on a premium unfinished basswood panel. Thousands of meticulously layered marks form the portrait, building depth, dimension, and texture through a distinctive interplay of color and line.
The natural wood surface provides a warm, understated foundation for the vibrant ink, while the surrounding marks extend beyond the figure to create a sense of movement and visual tension. Each layer remains visible, allowing the process and physicality of the drawing to become an integral part of the finished work.
